Every time before the Saiyan saga Tien is undoubtedly stronger. After Krillin gets his power-up and Tien gets his training from King Kai fans seem split between with is stronger. But in the Buu saga most fans agree Tien is stronger since Krillin stopped training. |

I would say: Beginning of DBZ - Tien Saiyan Saga - Tien Frieza Saga - Krillen Trunks Saga - Krillen Android Saga - Tien Cell Saga - Tien Buu Saga - Tien So ya, Krillen overtakes Tien for a short time, but Tien eventually reclaims his throne. However, it needs to be said that Krillen would be a formidable foe in every saga. He could kill Tien if he was able to connect with his destructo disk. As far as Yamcha goes, he always play third fiddle. He somewhat keeps up with Tien and Krillen up until the Cell saga, but after that he is completley outclassed. I wouldnt even doubt that Chaoitzu eventually surpasses him. |

After the Guru power up, Krillin is deff strongest. at that point, he was at least as strong as Nappa was. He may fall behind a bit near the end of the series, but he is still really strong. But no matter what, It's between him and Tien. Yamcha is strong for a human, but he's no competition to Krillin and Tien. |

Krillin makes me laugh. Goku makes me cheer. Vegeta makes me scream. Gohan makes me gasp. And Piccolo makes me shut up. Spoiler: click to toggle | |

Yamcha was about as strong as Krillin at the 22nd Budokai. OT: KP's right. It depends who you ask yada yada. I just have Tenshinhan stronger than him at all times in dbz although you can place Krillin above him in the Trunks arc and Android arc. It's just laughable though to have Krillin above him in the Buu arc. Edited by Cocoman, Dec 18 2011, 01:05 AM.

No he wasn't. Son Goku was implied to be >= Base Roshi at the very least and Kuririn was able to hold his own against him until he powered up further. Tenshinhan (Initial) = Base Roshi = Match Level Son Goku (Initial) >= Kuririn >> Yamucha |

Goku was just holding back a ***** ton against Krillin and then just casually knocked him out of the arena when he was still at match level. I would rather take the word of Krillin himself; "But…Yamcha lost, and he was about as good as me." |

Nobody realised Son was holding back against Kuririn though when they were fighting evenly. Hell, Kuririn even told him to go all out. This is the same Son Goku that even Muten Roshi was worried about losing to. |

I think Yamcha is lesser than Krillen in all the tournaments, but only by a small amount (give or take 10 PL points). It would be a really good fight, but Krillen could take him. I don't have proof, but in Dragonball there was no PL's, so the greatest way to judge power is how Toriyama treated each character. Krillen always either gets further than Yamcha in the tournament, or he is being fed to a stronger opponent (ie. Piccolo). It is true that Yamcha could defeat the same fighters Krillen does, but since hes not as important of a character, he doesnt get the same treatment. Yamcha's role was always to be fed to a stronger fighter to make them look good, and nothing more. While we as the viewer knew there is no chance in hell Krillen will ever win, at least there are times when he seemed like a bit of a threat. |

I don't think Krillin is stronger than Tien at any point in the anime. I know some of this is filler and some isn't but just bear with me: -We know Tien is a lot stronger throughout Dragon Ball -We know Tien is stronger at the beginning of Z due to Bulma's scouter readings after the Raditz fight -Krillin gets his potential unlocked by Guru, but Tien trains with King Kai as well. Goku's power increases a LOT from the Raditz fight to the Nappa fight, and Tien spends a MUCH longer time on King Kai's planet than Goku (or Piccolo and Yamcha, for that matter). -(filler alert) Krillin isn't a match for Recoome, but Tien defeats both Burter and Jeice at the same time. Since he fights using his split-form technique, one can assume that each half is stronger than either Burter or Jeice (both of whom were stated to be as strong as Recoome). -When Goku and the others encounter Yamcha being attacked by Android 20, Goku specifically sends Krillin to take Yamcha out of the battle while Tien remains with the other stronger fighters -Obviously Tien is stronger in the Cell saga due to Tien and Krillin's respective battles against Semi-Perfect Cell. Neither are able to do any real damage to Cell, but Tien clearly makes a better go of it than Krillin. -It may not mean much, but in the anime Tien clearly puts up a better fight against the Cell Jrs. He is shown getting back up to his feet at least three separate times, whereas Krillin pretty much gets put down for good with that one kick. -In the Buu Saga, Krillin is basically retired whereas Tien has continued to train. Even Gohan remarks about Tien's increased power when Tien uses his Tri-Beam on Buu. In terms of Goku's old crew I think it's clearly Tien >>>> Krillin >>>>>> Yamcha >>>>>>>>>> Chiaotzu Edited by Famicommander, Dec 18 2011, 08:36 PM.

Yeah pretty much opinion, just like everything else. Some people can have Puar above Goku and it'd still be a matter of opinion. For opinion polls sometimes Tien stomps and other times Krillin pummels. So those are pretty useless too. Although people that watch/read DBZ before DB tend to favor Krillin (not always). For me I have Krillin above Tien for everything in Namek and post Namek. I'm just unable to fathom that anyone can gain insane amounts of power such as 300x by just training on Kai's. I mean has anyone in the series made that much of a gain in a year? 2 years? 7 years? Other than that there's no solid number on Tien's number either in DBZ after the Saiyan saga. And for Earth training same thing. Tien would have to gain insane amounts power with just "Earth training". I have the humans keeping a pretty static number of increase post Namek hence their uselessness and lack of plot availability. I mean if they just went in rosat or did gravity training I'm sure they could have kept up with saiyans but it seems like AT just took a dump on the humans in Z other than Krillin in Namek. |

I still fail to see anything on-screen that indicates Krillin EVER passes Tien Shinhan at any point in the series. If you include filler segments (specifically the Ginyu Force on Kai's planet and Tien's fight with Cell Jr) Tien is the stronger by far, but even without filler Tien is shown to be above Krillin just by his actions against Semi-Perfect Cell and Buu. Another thing I forgot to mention in my previous post was when Vegeta, Trunks, Piccolo, and Tien are fighting 17 and 18. Tien and Piccolo rush in and get one-shotted, but at least they did something. Krillin stood there paralyzed with fear. I think the only reason this is ever debated is because Krillin is a more relevant and more popular character. Tien is always stronger, especially when you take his Tri-Beam into account. |

1) Filler should never be used to judge a characters canon power. 2) Even so Krillin got much stronger after he got his ***** beat by Recoome, Vegeta even says that Gohan, Vegeta and Krillin could beat Freeza if they teamed up and Vegeta knew Freeza could transform (Although he thought only once and not nearly as much as he did). 3) Krillin not wanting to fight the Androids proves nothing of his power except he's weaker than the Androids but everyone was at that point. |
